John Humphreys is a marine biologist whose interests range from the ecology of anthropically dispersed global fishery bivalves (Manila clam and Pacific oyster), to marine protected area policy and management. John was formerly Pro Vice-chancellor (Research) at the University of Greenwich, London, for whom his work in Africa won a Queen’s Award. He has served as a director of a commercial port and chair of the UK’s Southern Inshore Fisheries and Conservation Authority. He is currently a Visiting Professor at Bournemouth University, President-elect of ECSA, and proprietor of a coastal research and survey business.
